AM Specialty Hires Kevin Stephenson as CFO and Viren Patel as CRO for ASIC UK
London, UK, January 8th, 2025 — AM Specialty Insurance Group is pleased to announce the appointments of Kevin Stephenson as Chief Finance Officer and Viren Patel as Chief Risk Officer of AM Specialty Insurance Company (UK).
In his role as CFO, Kevin will oversee financial operations for ASIC UK, including financial planning, reporting, and regulatory compliance, supporting the company’s financial strength and alignment with group strategy. Kevin brings over 20 years of financial leadership experience across the Lloyd’s and broader general insurance markets. He has held senior roles at AXA XL, including Head of Finance for Lloyd’s & UK and CFO of AXA Africa Specialty Risks, and most recently served as Finance Director of Insurance Operations at Marco Capital, where he led financial strategy, planning, and regulatory reporting across group insurance entities. An FCA/ACA-qualified accountant, Kevin brings deep expertise in finance operations, governance, and regulatory frameworks.
Viren joins ASIC UK as Chief Risk Officer, where he will lead the company’s enterprise risk management framework, capital oversight, and risk governance activities in line with UK regulatory expectations. He brings extensive London Market experience, having most recently served as Head of Risk at AEGIS London, and previously held a similar senior role at Starr Companies, with responsibility for core ERM, Internal Model Validation, and ESG. Earlier in his career, Viren held a number of senior risk and actuarial roles across the London Market, specialising in capital modelling and validation, and also spent several years working at Lloyd’s.
